Delhi fog has begun to make an appearance over the national capital since yesterday. So much so that, the visibility had dropped to 500 metres yesterday. In fact, talking about Christmas morning, the visibility in the national capital dropped to nil at about 8:00 am.

The city was covered under a blanket of thick fog. Moreover, flights were delayed to quite an extent. In fact, for about an hour, all flights departing from Delhi and the NCR region were pit on a hold.

These weather conditions have been attributed to the presence of light winds. Along with this, due to the approach of Western Disturbance, humidity has increased. Thus, this has led to dense fog over Delhi and its adjoining areas.

However, now as the Western Disturbance will move away gradually and northwesterly, northerly winds will start blowing. Therefore, humidity will decrease and the intensity of fog will also start decreasing by tomorrow. However, dense fog will make an appearance over Palam airport for short duration. Gradually, fog will lift.

Along with this, minimums have seen an increase by one to two degrees Celsius. However, tomorrow onward, minimum temperature will see a decrease once again resulting in chilly nights. By December 27 and 28, Delhi may record temperature around 3 degrees Celsius resulting in biting cold conditions.
