Update: With the Safdarajng repository of Delhi recording today's maximum temperature at 40.1 degrees, this is the season's highest temperature recorded so far for Delhi.
Original Story: Temperatures are on the rise in the national capital Delhi. As predicted earlier, Delhi crossed 40 degrees today at Palam and few other locations in and around the city. While Palam airport recorded seasons highest at 41.2 degrees, the official repository Safdarjung missed 40 degrees mark by a whisker to clock 39.7 degrees, highest so far. Earlier on April 13th, Delhi had recorded a maximum of 38.1 degrees. These temperatures at various locations are about 4 deg above the normal and lead to marginal heat way conditions a little early in the season. These conditions are likely to stay for the next 48 hours.
The thunderstorm is expected in some parts of the city on April 17th & 18th and followed by some showers on April 19th & 20th. Such conditions may drop the day temperature by about 2 degrees. The comfort levels are going to remain poor and hot winds will continue in the afternoon. Humidity score is going to rise a bit resulting sticky conditions in the coming days.
