However, the national capital city has recorded dust storm at several places post 5:00 pm and scattered activity is likely during next 3-4 hours due to which dip in temperature at night and tomorrow is possible by a couple of degrees.

Oppressive heat has engulfed Delhi-NCR as mercury soared to 45.4°C at 2:30 pm on Monday. While, Safdarjung Observatory recorded 43.4°C at the same time.
Monday has turned out to be the hottest day of season so far. Moreover, the day may end up with further increase in the maximum temperature, which is officially recorded at 5:30 pm.
Present weather has also amounted to heatwave conditions over the city. According to Skymet Weather, absolute clear sky with bright sunshine and very light winds has triggered steep rise in day maximums.
At present, hot and dry westerly winds from desert of Pakistan and Rajasthan are reaching up to the national capital region that have been primarily responsible for blazing heat.
However as reiterated earlier, significant relief is in offing for Delhi during the next 24 hours with approaching spell of rain and thundershowers.

This will lead to drop in temperatures and better weather conditions will prevail for next 2-3 days. Thunderstorm and dust storm activities are also likely during the period.
