Summers have almost approached Delhi, and this can be seen by warm and sunny weather that has been prevalent across the city and its adjoining regions for the last many days. Both the maximum and minimum temperatures have been witnessing a significant rise.
On March 2, Delhi’s Safdarjung Observatory recorded a whopping 32.3°C which is 5 degrees above the normal. Meanwhile, the maximum temperatures as recorded by Palam Observatory was 31.6°C which is 4 degrees beyond normal.
The minimums as recorded by both the observatories also shot up and settled 3-4 degrees above the normal levels.

The continuous dry weather and increased sunshine hours are the main reason for the temperatures settling beyond normal. As per Skymet Weather, Delhi is likely to continue to reel under the warm and dry weather for the day.

Thereafter, Delhi may witness partly cloudy sky followed by some thunderstorm activities. This weather activity would be because of the Western Disturbance which is moving across North Pakistan and adjoining areas. Its induced cyclonic circulation is also seen over Punjab and adjoining central Pakistan.
Moreover, a trough is seen extending from this system towards North Haryana. This weather activity resulted in some light rain and thundershowers during the last 24 hours over a few parts of North Rajasthan, Punjab, and North Haryana. Though this weather activity escaped Delhi during that time, the city along with it neighboring Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad can brace for some thunderstorm activities on March 4 however, chances of rain are very bleak.
