The national capital has been witnessing on and off pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers since April 26. May also began on the rainy note, leading to pleasant weather conditions over the city. The city has recorded 2 mm of rain in span of the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday.

Now, weathermen predict that pre-Monsoon activities will take a back seat and weather will go dry at least for the next 3-4 days.
“Though a feeble Western Disturbance will approach Western Himalayas but it will not have effect on the northern plains. Hence, dry and warm northwesterly winds will commence over Delhi-NCR leading to warm weather again,” said Mahesh Palawat, Chief Meteorologist, Skymet Weather.
Maximum temperatures are likely to rise and may reach 41°C or 42°C but heatwave conditions will not make a comeback.
Another spell of rains is likely over Delhi-NCR around May 9. These pre-Monsoon activities in terms of thunderstorm, thundershowers or dust storm are expected to continue for the next 3-4 days till May 12. This is also the favourable time for the hailstorm
Similar to the last week, these weather activities will be on and off and will usually occur in the afternoon or evening hours. Rains will be intense and short in nature but will once again able to arrest the rise in mercury.
