Delhi and NCR area to witness thunderstorm and light rains, relief likely from heat wave

In the wake of easterly/southeasterly winds blowing over the National Capital Region, heat wave conditions have abated from most parts of Delhi and NCR area. These winds are coming from the Bay of Bengal, so they are humid in nature and tend to drop the temperatures.

However, isolated pockets of Delhi and NCR are still under the grip of heat wave like conditions. But due to continuous easterly/southeasterly winds, we expect a further drop in temperatures.

A cyclonic circulation has also developed over Central Pakistan and adjoining parts of Rajasthan, which is going to act in tandem with moisture-laden winds from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea to create thundery conditions and partly cloudy sky in parts of Delhi and NCR today and tomorrow.

Mild dust storm activity followed by a short spell of light rain and thundershower is also a possibility in the region during this period. These pre-Monsoon weather activities will mostly occur during the late evening or afternoon hours.

Due to these weather activities, the minimum temperature of the National Capital Region may drop to some extent, resulting in pleasant weather conditions during the night hours.

However, in the absence of any significant weather activity, day temperatures may also witness a marginal drop and relief from the ongoing extreme heat.

After two days, the mild weather conditions in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and Ghaziabad will start clearing up and temperatures in the region will start rising again. Looking at the weather conditions it can be said that heat wave conditions will be ruled out from Delhi and NCR for the coming week.
