For the past many days, most areas of Odisha as well as Jharkhand have been recording some good rain activity during the last 24 hours. In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday, Titlagarh recorded 30 mm of rains, Chandbali 29 mm, Bhabanipatna 19 mm, Cuttack 18 mm and Gopalpur 13 mm. During the same time frame, traces or light rain occurred in parts of Jharkhand.

All thanks to the deep depression that is over North Bay of Bengal and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal. This weather system is most likely to move in a northwest direction.
As per Skymet Weather, with this weather system, moderate to heavy rains are likely to continue over North Odisha and East Jharkhand. Places such as Balasore, Badipada, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Sambalpur and Keonjhargarh in Odisha will witness good showers. In the same manner; Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bokaro and Daltonganj in Jharkhand are expected to observe good rainy spells.
Frequent spells of rain and thundershower with moderate lightning strikes and squally wind reaching up to 55 kmph or more may occur over many districts of Jharkhand during the next 2 days.

Weathermen expect the rain intensity to decrease in both the states after 48 hours, however scattered rain and thundershowers cannot be ruled out.
Thereafter, the weather across both the states will remain warm and humid, with pleasant morning and nights. Cloudy to overcast sky is likely to persist over Odisha and Jharkhand.
Day maximums are likely to range in 31-33 degrees, while minimums will settle in 22-25 degrees.
