Rain to decrease over northeast

After remaining active in the northeast region for past few days, monsoon rains may decrease over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya during the next two days. The slowing down of the intensity of southwesterly to southerly winds from the Bay of Bengal will be the reason behind this change. However, isolated places may receive heavy rain during the period.

Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim will also see drop in intensity of monsoon rain as the north-south trough from Sikkim to Bay of Bengal is expected to weaken in the next two days.

Due to these changes, temperatures that were below average in the region will rise again.
