Decent rains on cards for Madhya Pradesh for rest of July

At present, both East and West Madhya Pradesh are most rain surplus areas of the country. East Madhya Pradesh is rain surplus by 44 percent while the rain surplus for West Madhya Pradesh stands at 45 percent.

Throughout the Monsoon period, good rains have occurred over the state. From past two days, almost entire Madhya Pradesh has been blessed by good rains. In fact, due to incessant rains, many areas of the state such as Satna, Seoni and Ujjain had witnessed flood like situation, however, conditions have now improved. Yet, moderate to heavy spells are expected to linger over the state.

In last 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Wednesday, rainfall observed in most pockets of the state is displayed in the table below:

These rains embracing the state can be associated with two cyclonic circulations over South and Northwest Madhya Pradesh along with adjoining East Rajasthan.

There are possibilities of heavy to very heavy rains at one or two places. These rains are likely to continue throughout the remaining days of July until the first week of August. These rains have the potential to further intensify the rain surplus of the state.
