Unlike places in the northwest plains like Arga and Jaipur where the day temperatures are settling in the higher twenties, Gorakhpur and Patna in the Indo-Gangetic plains are yet to experience warmer days as temperatures are still settling below 20°C here. But the forecast of clear skies (due to lack of affect of Western Disturbance) and less fog in the morning hours is expected to push up the temperatures in the region in the next two to three days.
According to our meteorologists, day temperatures have already risen in west and central Uttar Pradesh including Meerut, Lucknow, Kanpur and Allahabad. A similar trend in temperatures will also be witnessed in the remaining parts of east India over east Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Gorakhpur recorded 16.8°C as the maximum temperature on Monday which is seven notches below normal while, the maximum temperature in Patna settled at 16°C, eight degrees below normal. Other places in Bihar like Bhagalpur, Chapra, Forbesganj, Muzaffarpur and Purnea are also observing below normal temperatures and could witness a rise in the next two days,
Allahabad and Varanasi could be heading for more warmer days as the maximum temperature in the region is expected to rise further. The day temperature in Varanasi on Monday was recorded marginally below normal at around 23°C while, Allahabad recorded maximum at around 26°C. These temperatures are likely to rise further and settle in the higher twenties.
