After witnessing a drop in night and early morning temperatures, now it's day temperatures in Delhi and North India that are expected to fall in the coming days. The regular approach of Western Disturbances over Jammu & Kashmir will bring clouds and fog (depending on the strength of such a weather system) which will lead to less sunshine for surface heating in the region. This will drop the maximum temperatures in the region to make daytime cooler, compared to the last few days.
The maximum temperatures in Delhi were recorded at 24 and 24.4 degrees on Sunday and Monday respectively. They are expected to fall by 2 to 3 degrees in the next two days. The average maximum in Delhi during the month of December is 22.9 degrees.
Another Western Disturbance is likely to affect the northwest region due to which the day temperatures may drop further. Foggy conditions will also help in pulling down the maximums in the region. Amritsar that witnessed dense fog till noon on Monday saw day temperature fall marginally below the average.
Night Temperatures in Delhi
Delhi had recorded a minimum temperature of around 9 degrees on Monday and Tuesday but it is expected to increase marginally from Thursday onwards as a fresh Western Disturbance approaches the Himalayas. They will remain in the same range for a couple of days more. However, night temperatures would fall to settle around 5 degrees after the passage of Western Disturbance from Monday night onwards.
