Dahanu receives heavy Monsoon rains once again

Dahanu rainsDahanu has been receiving heavy rainfall since last many days. On the first day of July, this coastal town in the Palghar district of Maharashtra received 62 mm of rainfall. On July 2, Dahanu received 93 mm.

Intensity of rainfall has increased further and in a span of last 24 hours, from 8.30 am on Saturday, Dahanu has received a whopping 144 mm of rainfall.

The West Coast has been receiving heavy to moderate showers for the last many days. Particularly, Konkan & Goa has seen extremely heavy rains.

On last Sunday, June 26, Dahanu had received 251 mm of rainfall. This is also the highest rainfall recorded, in a span of 24 hours, during the last 10 years. However, the city failed to break the all-time highest 24-hours rainfall of 378 mm recorded on June 28, 1960.

Heavy rainfall is likely to continue for another 24 hours over Dahanu. Thereafter, rains will continue but intensity will reduce.
