Cyclonic circulation from the Arabian Sea moves inland; rain, hail expected in Central India

After emerging off Saurashtra coast in the Arabian Sea, the cyclonic circulation has moved to Gujarat and adjoining areas of Central India. The weather system is expected to bring good amount of rain in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Odisha while moving eastward during the next 72 hours.

According to the latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, Gujarat, west Madhya Pradesh and east Rajasthan will receive rain in the next 24 hours in the first lag. Madhya Pradesh will witness increase in rain during the next 48 hours wherein almost entire state will experience showers. There are also chances of hail storm at isolated places in the state.

In the second lag, rain belt will shift more eastwards according to the movement of the cyclonic circulation. During this period, central Uttar Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and West Bengal will experience rain from tomorrow onwards.

A trough (region of intensified moist winds) has emerged along the West Coast and extends from Lakshadweep to Gujarat. This weather system will move eastward and may connect with the cyclonic circulation in Central India to usher in rain over central and southern Peninsula during the same period. Due to this, madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Karnataka and Kerala will witness cloudy sky and rain.

Another trough of low pressure continues to persist along the Tamil Nadu coast. Coastal places of Tamil Nadu have been experience rain which is expected to continue for the next 24 hours.
