A cyclonic circulation has emerged over North Andaman Sea, extending up to mid tropospheric levels. Cyclonic circulation is more prominently marked above the height of 5000' over this area. It is sloping with height and is yet to percolate over the Andaman Sea in the lower levels. However, the entire column from the sea surface to level of 20,000' will observe a well marked circulation within the next 24hr.
The weather system has moved from Gulf of Thailand, across Myanmar to enter Andaman Sea and adjoining Bay of Bengal (BoB). The system will move westward and come over central parts of BoB in the subsequent 48hr. It is unlikely to intensify to a low pressure area. Also, the system will take a recurving track to northeastward to head for Myanmar coast. It is likely to become less marked and get filled up over the sea itself by 29th Nov.
Bay Islands including Maya Bandar, Long Island, Port Blair, Hut Bay, Car Nicobar and Nancowry are expected to have moderate rainfall accompanied with squally winds. Intense rainfall will remain confined to extreme North Andaman Sea, Gulf of Martaban and Arakan Coast of Myanmar. Weather activity will stay far from the coast of South India. Accordingly, northeast monsoon will mostly have a lean phase for the remaining days of November over South Peninsula.
