The state of Haryana has received moderate dust storm and thundershowers, in association with gale winds, during the last 24 hours. Similarly, dust storm activities and squally winds, followed by light rains were observed in parts of Punjab. Isolated places in Uttar Pradesh too have observed light rain.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday , Hisar (Haryana)has recorded 38 mm of rainfall, followed by Narnaul (Haryana) 12 mm, Amritsar (Punjab) 9 mm and Ludhiana (Punjab) has recorded 2 mm of rainfall.

On the other hand, traces of rains have been recorded in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

According to Skymet Weather, the reason for ongoing activities over Punjab and Haryana can be attributed to the Western Disturbance over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir and its induced Cyclonic Circulation over Central Pakistan and adjoining parts of Punjab. Moreover, the Severe Cyclonic Storm Vayu is increasing the moisture content, thus making the conditions favourable for rains.

Due to these systems, dust storm and thundershowers along with strong winds will occur over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh. The intensity of these pre- Monsoon activities would be more on June 18.
