Hi, and welcome to Skymet thunderstorm report. It's 12:40 pm.
As per the latest weather report, Cyclone Vardah is approximately 50 km east-northeast of Chennai and is inching closer to Tamil Nadu. The cyclone is expected to make a landfall in any hour now particularly over the coastal regions including Chennai, heavy to extremely heavy rains are expected to lash the city.

We can see cloud build up over Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. There is the possibility of rain over cities like Nellore, Vellore, Thiruvananthapuram, Madurai, Puducherry and Tirupathi.
