Such weather conditions can also be credited to the Cyclone Roanu that brought relief from the heat for some couple of days in the region. The clouds brought by the Cyclone Roanu did bring in some relief to Odisha.

On the day Cyclone Roanu hit Odisha – the temperatures did drop significantly in the region. The temperatures in the capital city of Bhubaneswar dropped up to 5°C from 32.4°C to 27.6°C in just 24 hours. But the temperatures have risen again; the current temperature of Bhubaneswar is at 36°C which is almost 10°C more than what it was on May 21.

By the end of April, Titlagarh in Odisha was searing close to 50°C temperatures but with the advent of Cyclone Roanu, the temperatures fell to higher 30s. But as soon as the cyclone degenerated, the temperatures began to see a steady growth. The current temperature of Titlagarh is at 45.5°C and it is expected to rise.

The usual hot and dry winds are expected to blow over the region aiding rise in temperatures. But some relief is in the offing as sometime by the end of this month, some isolated pre-Monsoon showers are expected over the region around May 29-May 30.
