The state of Maharashtra usually remains dry during this time of the year. Not only this, the region also observes warm weather as well. However, this year, the first cyclone of the season has given a different angle to the Maharashtra weather altogether.

The weather system had formed in the Bay of Bengal giving hefty rains over Kerala and Lakshadweep, thereafter it moved towards Arabian Sea and has been churning in since then. The system had become a very severe Cyclone before recurving towards Gujarat. The weather system has weakened into a cyclone now and has given good rains over many parts of Maharashtra.
