Since November 6, the weather conditions over most parts of Karnataka including the capital city, Bengaluru are dry. In fact, the minimum temperatures of entire state are below normal by three to four degrees and maximum temperatures are above normal by two to three degrees. Therefore, the variation between day and night temperatures is very high.
Now a cyclonic storm named Gaja is moving towards Tamil Nadu Coast. This Cyclone is expected to cross and make a landfall over South Tamil Nadu by November 15 evening. With its landfall, we expect scattered rains to commence over South Interior Karnataka including Bengaluru from November 15 afternoon.
Moreover, on November 16 and 17, we expect rain in many parts of South Interior Karnataka and Coastal Karnataka. Weather of North interior Karnataka is expected to remain dry.
The minimum temperatures which are below normal over many parts of Karnataka will see a rise of two to three degrees due to increase in humidity levels and cloud cover.
Further, from November 18, weather will become dry over the entire state, but isolated light rains may still continue over parts of South Interior Karnataka.
