November 12, 2018 3:12 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Both Kerala and Karnataka are witnessing dry weather conditions since last few days. On November 11, Karnataka was rain deficient by 47% whereas Kerala was deficient only by 10%. Now also, we don’t expect any weather activities over these states until tomorrow.

The Cyclonic storm Gaja is over Bay of Bengal and it will move in a westerly direction towards Tamil Nadu coast. Due to the system, we can expect light to moderate rains over South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala. Whereas, scattered rains will be experienced over South Interior Karnataka and many parts of Kerala on November 15-16.

Thereafter, rains are expected to decrease but scattered light rains will continue over these areas. At that time, rain deficiency of Kerala might come down and is expected to reach normal. There can be a marginal improvement in rain deficiency of Karnataka as well. Districts of North Interior Karnataka will remain dry because no rains are expected over that region.

Weather will remain cloudy to partly cloudy with day temperatures expected to drop by 2-4 degree-Celsius over South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala. Thereafter, there will be a marginal increase in temperatures.
