The depression in the Arabian Sea has been undergoing rapid intensifications. Moreover, the system has now become the first storm of Arabian Sea this year, Cyclone Biparjoy. The storm is centred around 12 degrees North and 66 degrees East.
The tentative track of the system will be in the northward direction but these storms are at times notorious enough to defy the predicted track and the intensity which means that we still need to keep a constant watch on the system.
The system may even become a severe cyclonic storm by tomorrow night as it is moving in favourable waters with very warm sea surface temperatures and low wind shear. Furthermore, the day after, i.e. in about 48 hours or so, the system may become a very severe Cyclonic Storm.
