Cumulonimbus clouds bring dust storm, hail and rain in Delhi-NCR

The cyclonic circulation is persisting over Haryana and adjoining areas. The trough from this system is moving up to East India, across Delhi.

The easterly wind flow persisting over the region has increased the moisture content. The available moisture in the air is combining with the high temperatures to bring dust storm activities. In fact, whenever day temperatures reach higher thirties during late afternoon and evening hours in the pre-Monsoon season, it induces convective cloud formation known as cumulonimbus clouds.

At around 4 pm on Wednesday afternoon Skymet Weather tweeted:

These clouds bring lightning, thunderstorm, high-velocity winds and thundershowers. As and when, its top reaches more than 10 kms, it becomes capable of giving hail storm as well. A similar situation was witnessed in Gurgaon today.
