Country Witnesses Rainiest Day Of This Winter

Multiple weather systems have caused widespread rain in the country over the past 24 hours. The last 24 hours are easily the rainiest day of this winter. The national capital too has received good amount to heavy rainfall with 8 mm rain being recorded at Safdarjung observatory. Meanwhile, 13 mm rain was recorded in Palam region. As predicted by Skymet, rain in Delhi NCR region started on Saturday night and has continued till Sunday morning.

A series of weather systems have coupled up to bring rain and hailstorms in different parts of the country. While a fresh western disturbance is affecting the hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh, a cyclonic circulation is causing rain in Haryana, Rajasthan, and adjoining areas. Moreover, another system is affecting Gujarat and adjoining areas of Rajasthan.

Rain in different parts of the country has brought down day temperatures. While some areas received moderate to heavy rainfall, others witnessed light to moderate showers. Bikaner recorded 21 mm rain, Ahmedabad 19 mm, Rajkot 13 mm, Jabalpur 21 mm, Satna 27 mm, Akola 18 mm, Mumbai 7 mm, Lucknow 7 mm, Goa 30 mm, and Belgaum 21 mm. Light rain was also observed in Gaya which received 1 mm rainfall. Interestingly, even dry areas like Kutch received some unusual March rain.

Good amount of rain is expected over Uttar Pradesh region and adjoining areas of Madhya Pradesh. Moderate to heavy widespread rain is expected to affect these regions for the next 24 hours or so. Also, light to moderate rain in Delhi NCR will continue till tomorrow. As for the hilly areas, rain along with hailstorms is expected. Parts of Maharashtra, and Gujarat will also receive fairly widespread rain for another 24 hours.
