Pre-Monsoon season has been decent enough for the city of Kolkata. So much so that the city has witnessed a few good spells of Pre-Monsoon showers during the month of May. In fact, with the presence of Cyclone Mora, weather conditions became favourable for more Pre-Monsoon showers over the City of Joy.
A trough was also in proximity over the region which enhanced the rain activity over the capital city of West Bengal. Yesterday as well, Kolkata did observe some rain and thundershowers.
Now, as per weather experts at Skymet Weather, isolated light rain is likely over Kolkata and its adjoining areas. However, thereafter, weather will once again go dry with warm temperatures and humid day taking over. During this time, rains will take a backseat.

However, rain gods will not remain far away from the City of Joy and happy days will be back again. Another spell of rains may commence on June 5, thereafter on and off rains will continue over the city.
Another good news here is that around next week, Monsoon may make an appearance over Kolkata. Between June 7 and 8, Southwest Monsoon is expected to announce its arrival over Kolkata and adjoining areas.
