Delhi Weather AprilBrief relief from hot and humid conditions in Delhi is soon expected as southeasterly winds have given birth to cooler conditions in the national capital.  Delhi has been witnessing hot and dry conditions for last 12 days now. It had rained last on April 15, 2015 in Delhi. Day temperature did touch the 40°C mark a few days back, but now the temperature is settling in the 30s. Today, the maximum temperature was recorded at 37°C.

The city did experience a wet first half in the month of April and recorded 25 mm rain. This is more than the normal average rainfall for the month of April in Delhi. But a long dry spell of about 12 days saw the maximum temperature in the capital touching 40°C. Now, a change in wind pattern has brought some welcome relief for Delhiites.

A cyclonic circulation over northern Rajasthan and adjoining areas is causing this change in the wind pattern. The same system is expected to cause rain in Delhi-NCR region late night today or early morning tomorrow.

The day temperature is expected to settle below normal for the next few days. A deviation of about 4 to 5°C is expected in the coming days. While day temperature in the capital will settle below normal, the night temperature is expected to remain normal. In addition to this, slightly humid conditions will be experienced in the city. But a cool breeze will continue to blow over the region providing relief from warm and humid conditions.
