At present, Delhi-NCR is witnessing different shades of weather. Since last 48 hours, there was sudden increase in day temperatures over the national capital by 5-6 degrees.

Now, the cool winds have made a comeback over the city, bringing much needed relief from soaring mercury. Moreover, passing showers are also likely over Delhi-NCR on Saturday that will add to the comfortable weather.

Delhi had recorded maximum temperature of 38°C on March 24, while it was 36.6°C on March 25. This was seven and six degrees above the normal average temperature, respectively.

However, cool northwesterly wind started blowing over Delhi since midnight. Speed of these winds are also moderate, which has resulted in significant drop in temperatures.

Delhi that recorded temperature of 35°C at 11:30 am on March 25, witnessed steep dip and settled at 26°C at 11:30 am on March 26. We expect these comfortable weather conditions to continue for another 2-3 days.

According to Skymet Weather, the affecting Western Disturbance and its induced cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan are moving towards east direction. This has led to change in wind pattern over the city once again and are now blowing from northwest direction.

This transition of the weather due to passage of these systems is also likely to give isolated light rain and thundershowers over parts of the capital today.

Earlier warm and humid southwesterly winds were blowing over Northwest India including Delhi on account of these systems. This had led to sharp rise in the day temperatures.

Temperatures will start rising once again by March 29 or March 30, as another Western Disturbance is approaching the region that will once reverse the wind pattern.
