The city of dreams, Mumbai being a coastal station experiences least seasonal variations. Thus, residents here have a general opinion that Mumbai experiences mainly two seasons i.e. Monsoon and Summer. However, November to February is generally considered as distinctive winter season for the city.
Weatherwise, there has been absolutely no change in the weather over Mumbai and dry weather is still continuing over entire city. Moreover, since December 15, Mumbai has been witnessing below normal minimums. However, during the last 48 hours, minimums have increased by three degrees. Let us have a look at the minimum temperatures recorded during the last few days.
Winds have changed their direction and at present, warm and humid winds from southeast directions are blowing over the city. These winds will continue to grip the city for the next 24 hours. Thereafter, December 26 onwards, wind pattern will change and once again and minimums will start showing a drop by 1℃-2℃.
Further, a marginal drop is also possible in day temperatures. Meanwhile, sky will remain clear and day will be warm and sunny. However, mornings and nights will be cold over North Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha regions and light woolens would be required during early morning and late night hours. Minimum temperatures over Gondia, Nagpur and adjoining areas will settle around 8℃.
Similar weather conditions will persist over the places in proximity to Mumbai such as Thane and Dahanu. Moreover, with a comfortable night and no rains ahead, it will be a perfect Christmas night for Mumbaikars.
