According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, weather in Gujarat transformed as a result of two consecutive cold spells in North India in the first week of January. Snowfall in the hilly states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand and rain in the plains of North India have been the factors leading to a drop in minimum temperatures of Gujarat in last 24 hours.
While the capital city of Ahmedabad witnessed a drop of 2.6°C, coastal city of Porbandar observed a drop of 6 degrees in last one day.
