Cool and pleasant weather in Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Shimla, Manali; calls for a short trip

It seems like this is the perfect time to head to the hills in case you wish to break the monotony and indulge your body and soul in the nature. Days are extremely comfortable, and nights would be cold over the hills.

According to Skymet Weather, the prevailing Western Disturbance is now clearing away but remnants of the system might give isolated light rains over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, while Uttarakhand would see partly cloudy sky.

No significant weather activity is expected in coming 4-5 days, but night temperatures have dropped significantly, hence people are advised to carry woolens.

Although, passage of fresh Western Disturbances is likely, but this system will be feeble in nature. Therefore, it would not be able to give any significant rainfall or snowfall over the region. Tourists who are expecting snow must wait until mid of November. It is during that time, when chances of snowfall become prominent.

Places like Gulmarg and Pahalgam are witnessing very cold weather, with minimums settling beyond the freezing point around –1 or –2. Day temperatures are also in the range of 10-12 degree-Celsius. Similarly, Leh has been witnessing maximums around 12-13 degree-Celsius and minimums in the range of –3 to –4 degree-Celsius.

However, days mid or low reaches are still comfortable. For instance, Srinagar is witnessing maximums around 21 degree-Celsius but night is cold with minimums around 2 degree-Celsius.

However, weather over Himachal Pradesh is much better. Shimla and Dharamshala have been experiencing sunny days with comfortable temperature in the range of 18-21 degree-Celsius. Whereas, night temperatures are somewhere between 8-11 degree-Celsius.

Day temperature for Manali is around 15-16 degree-Celsius with minimums around 2-3 degree-Celsius.

In Uttarakhand, Mussoorie and Nainital have been witnessing day temperatures around 18-20 degree-Celsius with minimums around 8-10 degree-Celsius. Day temperature in Haridwar is somewhere around 28-29 degrees with night temperatures around 11-12 degree-Celsius. These places will witness a drop in temperatures in the coming month of November or so.
