Cool and foggy mornings ahead for Delhi-NCR

Fog made a comeback after granting a few fog-free mornings to Delhi and its adjoining regions. Delhi’s Palam Airport recorded dense fog today wherein the visibility even dropped to 100 meters affecting the air traffic and leading to the delaying of seven flights.

The reason for the fog to come back and shroud the national capital along with its adjoining regions can be associated with the recent occurrence of rains in a few isolated parts of Delhi and its surrounding regions.

These light rains along with increased humidity levels resulted in marginal drop in minimum temperatures once again. Moreover, light wind speed too contributed in rise in fog once again over Delhi and NCR.

As per Skymet Weather, an active Western Disturbance persisted over North Pakistan and adjoining parts of Jammu and Kashmir and it's induced cyclonic circulation over Central Pakistan and adjoining areas that led to rains in Delhi and NCR.

As of now, the Western Disturbance has moved away eastwards and thus, clear weather is once again likely to come up for the city. The weather is now expected to stay clear of rains though the partly cloudy sky is forecast for the national capital for another 24 hours.

Moreover, shallow to moderate fog is still likely to show up in Delhi and NCR for another 48 hours. Dense fog is also expected in isolated parts of the city. During the next 24 to 48 hours, the minimum temperatures are expected to witness a marginal drop. However, the above normal minimum trend will continue over the city.
