The state of West Bengal has had a good Monsoon run so far. The region has recorded good spells of rain during the entire Southwest Monsoon season. Kolkata in particular has also recorded good spell of Monsoon rains.
As far as the month of August is concerned, Kolkata has observed a few good spells of rainfall. In fact, the capital city of West Bengal has also recorded a few heavy spells of rain with a whopping 50 mm of rainfall on August 3.

However, rainfall activity did reduce in the past 24 hours. Moderate rains of 30 mm which was recorded a day before by single digit rainfall yesterday. In fact, in a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, the Alipore observatory in Kolkata recorded 3.8 mm of rainfall.

Not only this, Cooch Behar in West Bengal witnessed a whopping 141 mm of rainfall which happens to be highest of the season. Other parts of West Bengal also received light to moderate showers including Digha 23 mm, Jalapiguri 15.4 mm, and Bahrampur 7 mm.
These Monsoon rains have been attributed to the axis of Monsoon trough which is currently running across West Bengal.
As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, light to moderate rains are likely to continue over Kolkata, Siliguri, and Cooch Behar.
