The state of Rajasthan has seen a poor August in terms of rains. However, both the pockets were running surplus because of the rains that were recorded in the month of July, all thanks to Cyclone Biparjoy which had moved inland and was in proximity of Rajasthan giving excess rains.
Even now, West Rajasthan is seeing a surplus of 37 percent while eastern Rajasthan is below n0rmal at -12 percent. Normal for West Rajasthan remains far less than east Rajasthan also because it is the least rainy pocket.
Now, we can expect some consolatory showers over East Rajasthan starting tomorrow and continuing until September 9. Rainfall will be limited to East and South Rajasthan, particularly over stations bordering Madhya Pradesh. Cities of Chittorgarh, Boondi, Baran, Kota, Jaipur, Ajmer, Alwar, Sawai Madhopur, Bharatpur, Dausa, and Dholpur will be the ones seeing rain. West Rajasthan will not see any rain.
Rains will be attributed to the Low-Pressure Area formed in the Bay of Bengal, which has moved partly over land, and partly over the sea. East-west trough from the system also extends up to West Madhya Pradesh.
