The state of Gujarat experiences short winters and a prolonged spell of Pre-Monsoon as well as Post Monsoon hot and dry weather conditions. While northern parts see a prolonged winter season, winters remain milder for the state of Gujarat.
During the Pre-Monsoon season, most parts of the country sees some weather conditions, Gujarat sees hot and dry weather conditions and remains free from any kind of weather activity.

Usually, Monsoon reaches Saurashtra and other parts of Gujarat barring Kutch region around June 15. Kutch sees Monsoon rains right at the end.
This year, Southwest Monsoon has made an early onset over Kerala and has been arriving before time over other parts as well. In fact, Monsoon is expected to reach Mumbai before time as well.
Thus, by June 12, South Gujarat, Saurashtra, and even Central Gujarat including the cities of Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Bharuch, Porbandar, Veraval and Amreli will see Monsoon making an onset.
Not only will Monsoon arrive over but heavy rains are also a possibility right during the time of onset of Monsoon 2018 over Gujarat.
Cities including Surat, Vadodara, Kandla, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Veraval, Bhavnagar, Porbandar, Amreli, Kandla, Anand may see some heavy showers. Rains are also expected over Ahmedabad, Rajkot, and Surendranagar. Some pockets may also see some extremely heavy rainfall. Eastern half of Gujarat is expected to see more rains as compared to the other parts.
