Comfortable weather ahead for Delhi NCR

After witnessing good rains and thundershowers, weather over Delhi-NCR has now clear up. With this, maximums temperatures that had dropped significantly, will now start rising towards the normal.

Clear weather conditions have also paved way for cold and dry northwesterly winds once again.

Thus, in the coming days, we can expect comfortable days with bright sunshine but nights will be cooler. However, bone chilling wintery conditions are not likely to make a comeback over the region at least for the next few days.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am yesterday, the minimum temperature recorded was 10.6°C which happens to be 2°C above normal. But the maximum temperatures recorded was 19.4 which is 3°C below normal.

On Thursday, the national capital recorded widespread heavy rainfall to the tune of 30 mm. With this, Delhi had also surpassed its monthly average rainfall of 19.3 mm. These rains were on account of a strong cyclonic circulation that had travelled all across the northwestern plains, right from North Rajasthan to West Uttar Pradesh.

So far in January, Palam Observatory has recorded 41.7 mm of rain, while Safdarjung Observatory has received 33.7 mm. These rainfall figures have made January 2017 the rainiest January in the span of last 18 years.
