There has been a drop in the minimum temperatures across the plains of North India. The entire belt consisting of Punjab, Rajasthan is now experiencing cold wave like conditions. The drop in minimum temperatures is attributed to the Western Disturbance which has left the area, followed by cold Northwesterly winds. The coldest place in the plains of India is Amritsar in Punjab which recorded sub-zero minimum temperature for the first time this season, followed by Bikaner in Rajasthan.
