Good news in the New Year has finally taken place today as weather in Delhi turned cold for a brief period. After witnessing isolated rainfall yesterday, missing the much-awaited blanket of fog today, Delhiites eventually felt the chill factor in the evening and can enjoy this weather till tomorrow morning.
The temperatures have taken a dip due to the presence of upper haze and cloud cover caused due to the cyclonic circulation over Punjab and Haryana. The maximum temperature has come down to 19°C, several degrees below than yesterday but just a degree below than the normal. The minimum temperature which is still above than the normal is likely to witness a drop by 1-2 degrees by tonight.
However, Skymetweather expect the cloud cover to clear up tomorrow, resulting in a perfectly sunny day. Temperatures will rise and reach near normal.
January has so far remained unusually warm in Delhi where the bone-chilling cold is still missing. Temperatures have uncharacteristically stayed way above than the normal, resulting in a severe impact to sales of woolens and room heaters, besides affecting the tourism sector.
