Winter season usually remains dry for Rajasthan and is considered the best time to visit state’s fairy tale palaces.
Whenever any active Western Disturbance approaches Jammu & Kashmir, it induces a cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan and adjoining Haryana. As a result, rains occur over the state.
However, these rains usually remain confined to North and Central parts of the state.
At present, an active Western Disturbance has passed through Jammu & Kashmir and induced a Cyclonic Circulation over Northwest Rajasthan. Due to this, many northern districts of the state have received light to moderate rains and thundershower activities.
Due to this Western Disturbance and Cyclonic Circulation , northwesterly cold winds have been replaced by warm and humid easterly and south easterly winds.
This change in wind direction has led to an increase in minimums over many parts of the state.
In some time, this Western Disturbance will move away towards East and induced Cyclonic Circulation will also fade away, thereby making the weather of Rajasthan once again dry.
After this phenomena, normal flow of northwesterly winds will once again resume and minimums across the state will drop. Thus, a significant fall will be witnessed over Northern and Central districts.
This fall will be around 4℃-5℃ between November 16-18, whereas Southern districts will witness comparatively lesser quantum of fall I.e around 2℃-3℃.
