The cold wave conditions in Rajasthan are likely to continue for the next couple of days. Night and day temperatures are staying below normal in the state for the last few days. The capital Jaipur recorded a minimum of 2.8 degrees on Thursday which is 5 degrees below the average for the month of January. Churu at -1.6 degrees, recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the plains of North India.
The night temperatures are below normal by 2 to 7 degrees at many places in the state. Barmer recorded a minimum temperature of 4. 4 degrees, 6 notches below the average. Bikaner and Jaisalmer recorded minimum temperatures of 2 and 5 degrees respectively, on Thursday morning.
The pink city Jaipur remained under cold day conditions with maximum settling at 19.2 degrees on Wednesday, four notches below the normal. Along with Jaipur, the other places that remained in the grip of cold day conditions are Ajmer, Bikaner, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Udaipur. The maximum temperature in Udaipur was 14 degrees on the first day of the new year which is 10 degrees below normal.
Cold day conditions would improve in Rajasthan in the coming two days as clear skies will lead to rise in maximums.
