Minimum temperatures of Hyderabad were on a decline since last many days. In fact, December 28 onward, Cold Wave conditions had gripped many parts of Telangana. Moreover, severe Cold Wave conditions had also prevailed in some parts of the state resulting in very low minimum temperatures below normal by at least six to eight degrees Celsius.
During the last two days, there has been a marginal increase in the minimums. However, most parts of Telangana still are under the tight clutch of Cold Wave conditions. Now, the dry and cold winds which have been blowing over the state of Telangana will be replaced by warm and humid winds from the southeast direction.
These winds will be coming from southeast direction, i.e., the Bay of Bengal and will be moist in nature. Thus, temperatures will start increasing after 24 hours, leading to abatement of Cold Wave conditions from many parts. There will be an increase in temperatures by two to three degrees Celsius in the coming days.
Some parts may even see an increase of three to four degrees Celsius leading to abatement of Cold Wave conditions. Temperatures will become near normal up to January 8. Thereafter, southeasterly winds will once again be replaced by northeasterly winds due to which Cold Wave conditions will once again make a comeback.
At present, maximum temperatures are marginally above normal over most parts of Telangana due to which the diurnal variation, i.e., the difference between the maximum and minimum is quite high.
