Dry weather conditions are prevailing in the state of Rajasthan. The maximum and minimum temperatures are settling below the normal. The days are cold and the state is under the grip of cold wave conditions.
The minimum temperatures have dropped down to negative values at many places including Sikhawati, Churu, Sikar, Mount Abu and etc. The cold wave conditions are prevailing as northwesterly cold winds are blowing across the region from the Mountain ranges.
According to the weather models at Skymet, an upper air Cyclonic Circulation is developing over Southeast parts of Rajasthan which will be further moving northwestwards and will be intensifying more. A Western Disturbance is also approaching the Western Himalayas.
In the wake of this system, wind direction would change from easterly to southeasterly, resulting in the abatement of cold wave conditions during the next 24 to 36 hours.
The same system might also bring a spell of rain and thundershowers on January 1 and 2 for many parts of Rajasthan. Places like Kota, Jaipur, Pali, Alwar, Dholpur, Sikar, Sri Ganganagar, Churu, Pilani and etc will be experiencing rain and thundershower activities. Isolated hailstorm activities during the same span cannot be ruled out.
