Cold wave conditions likely over hills of North India, minimums to drop over plains

The Western Disturbance that was over the hills of North India has resulted in some good rainy spells over the hills of North India. For instance, Manali recorded 26 mm of rains in the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Srinagar 16 mm, Gulmarg 12 mm, Bhuntar 14 mm, Dharamsala 4 mm, Tehri 4 mm and Shimla 2 mm.

Light rains were also seen in parts of the plains of North India including Delhi, which saw scattered light rains last night. The system is now moving away, however, rain and snow may be seen over the hills for the next 24 hours, in view of the remnants of the system. Clearance may be seen in the subsequent 24 hours. Plains of North India will not see any weather activity now.

In view of this, cold wave conditions are expected to be seen over the hills after 48 hours as the system by then will have cleared away totally. Thereafter, we can see plains of North India witnessing a drop in temperatures wherein Delhi and the NCR region will also see minimums dropping.
