Cold wave conditions in Delhi coming up

January 2, 2023 7:00 PM |

Delhi NCR has been seeing minimums below 10 degrees with wintry conditions being observed over the entire national capital. There had been a slight respite in terms of extremely chilly conditions due to the presence of the Western Disturbance but now as the system moved away a couple of days ago, temperatures have begun to drop.

Cold wave conditions are likely in the coming days. Cold wave conditions occur when the temperature reaches 4 degrees or lower or whenever the minimum is 4.5 lower than normal.

Delhi is likely to have cold wave on the second count when the temperatures may drop below 5 degrees around January 5 and may last until January 7.

Today moderate fog was observed and dense fog over Palam Airport visibility at 50 metres. A Western Disturbance around January 7, will not affect Delhi and only across the hills but may see a reduction in minimums due to its wake again. Maximum will be around 19 and 20 degrees, due to dense fog and penetration of sunshine is less.
