Cold wave conditions extend upto Odisha, West Bengal

Top-coldest-cities-in-northern-plains-of-IndiaAs reiterated by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, the cold wave conditions in Central India and Jharkhand continue to prevail with minimums recording 5 degrees below the normal average.

The temperature departures from the normal are highest in Jharkhand with Dumka recording 7.3°C as the minimum temperature on Wednesday morning, which is 9 degrees below the normal average. Steel city Bokaro is also experiencing similar weather conditions. The minimum temperature in the city on Wednesday morning fell 8 degrees below normal to settle at 8.2°C. Giridih also recorded 7.3°C as the minimum temperature, which is 9 degrees below normal.

Till now Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh were the major states where cold wave conditions were being witnessed, but now Odisha is also battling this weather condition.

Angul in Odisha recorded 12.3°C as the minimum on Wednesday morning, which is 5 degrees below normal. Bhabanipatna recorded 10.2°C as minimum, again 5 degrees below normal. Keonjhargarh too saw the minimum plummet 5 degrees below normal to record 9.6°C.

Meanwhile, some places in West Bengal like Bahrampur also witnessed minimum drop 6 degrees below normal to settle at 12 .2°C. Krishnanagar also recorded minimum at 12 .2°C, again 6 degrees below normal.

These temperatures clearly indicate that winter has finally taken the country in its grip and by the time December starts we would really need some very thick woolens.
