Bone chilling cold wave swept across Gujarat and parts of Maharashtra after the spell of rain and snowfall in North India.
The cold wave has now abated from most parts of Gujarat but Maharashtra will continue to remain under its grip for another 24 hours.
Cold and icy northerly winds penetrated up to Gujarat and Maharashtra, plummeting minimums way below normal average.
In Ahmedabad, minimum touched an almost decade low of 7.4°C on Monday. However, temperatures have now started stabilizing and climbed to 12.5°C on Wednesday. Temperatures are reaching back to normal in other parts of Gujarat as well.
Naliya, where minimum had touched 5°C on Monday, is still 5 degrees below normal at 6.8°C. Similarly, Deesa is 4 degrees below normal at 7.4°C.

The wind pattern seems to be changing now as the Western Disturbance has moved away. Icy cold northerly winds are being replaced by relatively warmer easterlies and south easterlies across Gujarat and Maharashtra.
In Mumbai, minimum dropped to 12°C on Monday but came back to normal today morning. However, several other places are still witnessing below normal temperatures.
