The eastern states of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and East Uttar Pradesh are experiencing dry weather with mainly clear sky conditions since past many days. Moreover, with consecutive fall in minimums, cold wave conditions are also prevailing in pockets of these states.
During last 24 hours, Gaya in Bihar has recorded minimums at 2.7℃, which is below normal by 6℃ followed by Patna at 6.4℃, below normal by 3℃. Coming towards Jharkhand, Ranchi has recorded minimums around 4.6℃, below normal by 4℃, followed by Jamshedpur at 6.8℃, below normal by 4℃. On the other hand, the beautiful hill station of Darjeeling in West Bengal has recorded temperatures at 2.4℃ while Bankura has recorded its minimums at 8.2℃, below normal by 3℃.
Meanwhile, East Uttar Pradesh is performing very well with minimums falling at a faster pace over Gorakhpur and Sultanpur cities of the state. Both the places are recording temperatures between 3℃ and 5℃.
Moreover, since no active system is affecting over the region, cool and dry northerly winds are continuing over these states.
In the coming days, no change is expected in wind pattern apart from a slight decrease in temperatures over some places of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and East Uttar Pradesh. Further, nights will remain very cold and days will be felt as pleasant with bright sunshine to persist during afternoon hours. On the other hand, early morning hours will observe moderate to dense fog over the regions.
