For Gujarat, the New Year has begun on a colder note as many places are witnessing below normal day temperatures. Ahmedabad recorded a maximum temperature of 22.8 degrees on Wednesday which is 5 degrees below the average.

Similarly, Bhuj and Naliya too are witnessing cold day conditions for the last two days. The maximum temperature in Bhuj was recorded at 20.5 degrees, six notches below the normal while in Naliya it was seven notches below normal at 21 degrees.

In Porbandar, Deesa and Rajkot, the maximum temperatures were about 4 degrees below normal. Cloudy weather in Gujarat has led to a drop in day temperatures and is expected to remain so for a couple of days more.

Meanwhile, night temperatures that were below normal in the last few days of the year 2013 have risen by 2 to 3 degrees. Last week Dwarka, Naliya, Porbander and Rajkot had experienced cold wave conditions as the night temperatures were below normal by 5 degrees.
