Presently, most parts of Bihar have been blanketed by dense to very dense fog. Likewise, the northwest and eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh are witnessing similar weather conditions. However, the fog intensity has reduced over South Uttar Pradesh.

Due to the persistence of fog throughout the day, cold day conditions have maintained its clutch over many places of Bihar, northwest and East Uttar Pradesh.
Places like Bareilly, Najibabad, Rampur, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Gorakhpur and Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh, while Chapra, Muzaffarpur, Supaul, Sitamarhi and Bettiah in Bihar have been observing the cold day conditions. Here, temperatures are settling between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius.
Furthermore, day temperatures have also been low over many parts of Uttar Pradesh; in fact they are below the 5 degree mark. So, we can say that the residents of the region have been experiencing the wintry chill.

Places like Furastganj, Lucknow, Kanpur, Hardoi and Meerut have been observing minimums less than five degrees. As of today, Bahraich has recorded 5°C, being the coldest region in Uttar Pradesh.
Consequently, we can say that parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have been witnessing coldest days in the plains across the entire country. Weathermen expect dense to very dense fog to continue over Bihar, foothills as well as eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh for another 48 hours.
