Cold conditions to stay in Central India

Parts of Central India like Odisha, Maharashtra and Vidarbha will continue to witness below normal temperatures for the next two days. Sambalpur and Titlagarh in Odisha saw day and night temperatures fall below normal by 5 and 3 degrees respectively on Sunday. The weather will continue to remain the same for the coming few days in this coastal state.

Meanwhile, interiors of Maharashtra, Vidarbha and Madhya Maharashtra are experiencing cold conditions with minimums settling 3 to 5 degrees below normal. Nasik in the state recorded the lowest minimum on Sunday morning at 6.5 degrees. Likewise Pune also recorded a minimum temperature of 7 degrees, which is below normal by 5 degrees.

Weather in Mumbai has turned cold in the past two days as minimum temperatures are below normal by 3 degrees. The commercial capital will continue to witness the same weather in the next two days.

Due to penetration of northerly winds, cold conditions have also spread to some parts of south Peninsula over Telangana. Night temperature in Hyderabad was recorded at 11.8 degrees which is 3 degrees below the normal. Night temperature in Vijaywada has dropped 5 degrees below the average in past 48 hours. Weather forecast for Hyderabad and other places in the region suggests further dip in night temperatures in the next two days.
