During the last 24 hours, light rain and thundershower activity was experienced at isolated places in Tamil Nadu while other parts remained very warm and humid. These weather conditions are being observed in the region for the last few days.
The upper air trough extending from Karnataka up to Comorin region across interior parts of Tamil Nadu is the reason behind these rains. Due to the presence of this system, the spell of rain and thundershower is likely to continue mainly over the western parts of the state. Places like Coimbatore, Kodaikanal, Udhamangalam, Konoor, Madurai, and Krishnagiri are likely to witness this weather activity. For the next 2-3 days the weather condition in the region will remain the same.
