Cloudy sky, rain to persist in Kolkata

The weather in Kolkata will remain cloudy with chances of rain in coming two days. The 'City of Joy' had been witnessing rain for the last few days due to a weather system (a low Pressure Area) in north Andhra Pradesh, south coastal Odisha and adjoining areas of Chhattisgarh.

Kolkata received 41 mm of rain in the last 24 hours. Day temperatures in Kolkata have been below normal by 5 to 6 degrees and they will remain so for next two days as well. However, nights in Kolkata will remain warm and uneasy due to moist winds from the Bay of Bengal. Rain will decrease with the movement of the low pressure area towards the Bay.
